Yonsei KOREAN LANGUAGE INSTITUTE
The Korean Language Institute was founded on April 1, 1959, making it the inaugural institution to offer intensive courses in the Korean language. Alongside providing instruction in the language itself, the KLI has actively engaged in promoting Korean culture and history to students, missionaries, and diplomats.
All instructors at the Korean Language Institute (KLI) possess extensive experience and receive specialized training to teach non-native speakers the Korean language. The dedicated KLI staff consistently strive to create a nurturing environment that fosters student growth. Currently, the KLI operates as a prominent institution with 160 educators instructing around 2,300 students each term. Over the course of 62 years, KLI has proudly graduated 8,100 students, attracting a total of 146,520 learners from 151 countries to study Korean.
Students enrolled in KLI represent various backgrounds and countries, creating a dynamic and diverse community. This multicultural environment fosters a vibrant atmosphere for learning Korean, encouraging engaging conversations and cross-cultural interactions. Such interactions not only enhance conversational abilities but also promote a deeper understanding among students.
